Consultancy at the District Institute of Tourism of Bogotá

A project that contributed to positioning the city within the World Network of Smart Tourist Destinations.

In 2020 We received a request to be part of a high-performance interdisciplinary team that was going to provide service to the District Institute of Tourism of Bogotá. What they were looking for was a person with sufficient qualifications to develop the structuring of the district's tourism system and policies, thinking about the current and prospective conditions that arise regarding the city and the institutionality of public administration in the sector.

Our participation extended for two years, in which the concept of the district tourism system was developed, the strategy was put together in the 2021 POT Territorial Planning Plan regarding tourism, and the public policy of the sector was structured working with a multidisciplinary team, addressing work in the public sector with the community and public administration.

Likewise, a hybrid concept of digital transformation was developed to generate a digital tourism ecosystem, which allowed the district to position itself and begin to be part of the Global Network of Smart Tourist Destinations, an international recognition of quality in tourism that demonstrates the high performance and competitiveness of the city as a tourist destination. Bogotá became the 3rd destination in Latin America to be part of this network, which constitutes recognition of the city's efforts in terms of accessibility, sustainability, innovation, technology and destination governance.

In summary, our consulting work contributed to the development of an innovative and high-impact project for the tourism sector, supporting the IDT's mission to consolidate Bogotá as an innovative, accessible and inclusive tourist territory for all that, through Technology improves the tourist experience and also the quality of life of its residents.
